Melt in your mouth Sugar cookies.
1 cup Butter Or Margarine
1 cup Oil
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 cup Powdered Sugar, Sifted
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 whole Eggs
4 cups All-purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Cream Of Tartar
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Salt
Preparation Instructions
Cream together butter, oil and sugars. Add vanilla and eggs, mixing well. Sift together dry ingredients and add to the sugar mixture, mixing well. Refrigerate until well chilled. Roll dough into walnut-sized balls and flatten with a glass dipped in sugar.
Bake 10 minutes at 350F. They should only be brown around the edges. Don’t over bake!
There is nothing like a really good sugar cookie! I can't have them anymore but I can still bake them for others now and then. This recipe is from Tasty Kitchen website.
